Kar-Tainer SKD Cassette System

Our SKD system utilizes the same base-units as our CBU systems. Thus an SKD system can be configured in both a 3-car and a 4-car setting. The only difference is the rampways being exchanged for cross-over bars with fastening bolts to secure the vehicle body to. Our systems cater for shipping either plain bodies or full SKD kits were all parts and components belonging to each individual vehicle are packed in the same container.

Vehicle body loading onto our SKD cassettes can be done directly from assembly line, whereupon cassettes with vehicle bodies attached can be pulled on a dolly to adjacent storage area where it remains until trucks arrive and container loading can commence. This method ensures the key characteristics of the Kar-Tainer systems are held intact: Exterior loading, increase safety, decreased loading time and added quality.

Our returnable SKD cassette systems help reduce amount of containers shipped through optimizing load capacity and eliminate expendable wooden packaging which ultimately reduces both cost and CO2 emissions extensively. It also improves operational efficiencies both at packaging plant or warehouse as well as at receiving assembly plant.
