Daimler granted Kar-Tainer a second shipping contract involving exports from South Africa to their lower volume markets. This move involves the use of a disposable wooden pallet for loading, with cars being shipped in 20ft and 40ft containers. Once again the exterior loading concept is key to the quality standards required for this move. The first live load was carried out successfully on November 7th from East London. Volumes are expected to be much lower than the main C Class contract but could be in region of 1,500 cars per year.
